Troubleshooting
Installing and launching
Section titled “Installing and launching”macOS asks whether to open Wyrm
Section titled “macOS asks whether to open Wyrm”The first time you start Wyrm, macOS asks whether you want to open an app downloaded from the Internet. Click Open. Wyrm is signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so this question appears once.
macOS refuses to open Wyrm
Section titled “macOS refuses to open Wyrm”If macOS says it can’t check Wyrm or blocks it outright, the download is probably incomplete or was changed on the way. Delete it, download the DMG again from the download page and compare its checksum with SHA256SUMS.txt as the download page describes. If it still won’t open, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll to the message about Wyrm and click Open Anyway, then tell us at support@wyrmflow.com, because a notarized build shouldn’t need that.
“Automatic updates cannot install while Wyrm runs from here”
Section titled ““Automatic updates cannot install while Wyrm runs from here””Wyrm is running from the disk image or from a temporary copy macOS made. Click Install to Applications, or quit, drag Wyrm into Applications and start it from there. See Updates.
Sign-in
Section titled “Sign-in”The browser doesn’t hand me back to the app
Section titled “The browser doesn’t hand me back to the app”Finish by hand. On the Opening Wyrm… page, under Didn’t open?, click Copy. In Wyrm, paste it into Paste the code from your browser (below Didn’t get redirected?) and click Continue. The full walk-through is in Signing in.
If the link never works on your Mac, signing in with an email code avoids the browser entirely.
“That doesn’t look like a Wyrm sign-in code”
Section titled ““That doesn’t look like a Wyrm sign-in code””The code belongs to an older attempt. Every Reopen browser or Cancel starts a new attempt, and a code is valid for 10 minutes in the window that started it. Copy the newest code from the browser, or start again.
“Ignored an unexpected sign-in link”
Section titled ““Ignored an unexpected sign-in link””The app received a link it didn’t ask for, or one older than 10 minutes. Start the sign-in again from Wyrm.
The codes on the confirmation page don’t match
Section titled “The codes on the confirmation page don’t match”Click Cancel in the browser. Someone else may have started that sign-in. Then start again from Wyrm and compare the new codes.
“Couldn’t prepare a secure sign-in on this device”
Section titled ““Couldn’t prepare a secure sign-in on this device””Restart Wyrm and try again, or sign in with an email code.
No email code arrives
Section titled “No email code arrives”Check your spam folder, then use Resend code. If Wyrm says “Too many codes requested”, wait a few minutes before trying again.
Keychain prompts
Section titled “Keychain prompts”Wyrm keeps your session and connected GitHub/GitLab tokens in the macOS keychain. Release builds use the data-protection keychain and shouldn’t ask for your password, including after updates. If macOS does ask for your login keychain password, enter it and choose Always Allow, and let us know which version you’re on.
Private repositories
Section titled “Private repositories”A private repository opens without asking for Pro
Section titled “A private repository opens without asking for Pro”Wyrm checks only the remote called origin, and only on github.com, gitlab.com and bitbucket.org. If the check can’t get an answer (offline, rate-limited, a server error), the repository stays usable. That’s deliberate: a failed check never locks you out.
A public repository is treated as private
Section titled “A public repository is treated as private”Wyrm asks the host anonymously, as a logged-out visitor would. If the repository was private until recently, or the origin URL points at the wrong place, the answer is “private”. Check the URL with git remote -v, make sure the repository opens in a private browser window, then reopen it in Wyrm. Wyrm remembers the last answer it got, so the new one applies after a successful check. See Account, trial & billing for what the check does.
Logs and reporting a problem
Section titled “Logs and reporting a problem”Wyrm writes its log to:
~/Library/Logs/dev.wyrm.app/Wyrm.logDeveloper → Open Logs opens that folder. The log rotates at 5 MB and keeps the last five files.
The easiest way to report a problem is Help → Send Feedback / Report an Issue with Include a diagnostic report ticked. The report is anonymous; click Preview what’s included to see it first. You can also write to support@wyrmflow.com.
